About Oxford

Oxford is an internationally recognised university and tourist city with one of the densest concentrations of independent retail and restaurants in England, anchored by Cornmarket and the Westgate Centre redevelopment that opened in 2017. The University of Oxford is the oldest English-speaking university in the world, and the city receives over 7 million visitors per year. For digital signage, Oxford is a city where heritage, international audience and modern retail all coexist within the same square mile and where presentation has to clear a globally recognised bar.

What Oxford businesses tell us about their signage

What's broken today

  • Cornmarket retail tenants face a heritage backdrop and an international tourist audience.
  • Westgate Centre retail and dining face a modern covered retail audience distinct from the heritage core.
  • Restaurants face year-round resident, student and tourist audiences with varied expectations.
  • Healthcare, aesthetics and dental practices serve a demographic shaped by the university and the international visitor flow.

How Screenli fixes it

  • Designed-once retail templates that hold against the heritage frontage.
  • Centrally controlled covered retail templates for the Westgate Centre.
  • Live menu boards for the dense restaurant and cafe scene.
  • Waiting-room content for the local clinical community.

Why this matters in Oxford

Oxford's commercial environment is unusually dense for a UK city of its size, driven by year-round student demand, an international tourist audience that runs almost every day of the year, and a substantial resident population. Signage in Oxford is read against the bar that the Bodleian Library frontage and the Cornmarket heritage set; templated content visibly fights that bar, considered content earns the dwell time.

How it works

Three steps to your first screen

  1. 01

We fit the mini PC and the software

We install the Screenli mini PC behind your TV, commercial display or video wall, wire it to the network and provision it to your account. If you need a new commercial display as well, our UK hardware partners supply and install it at the same visit.

  2. 02

    We connect your integrations

For estate agents, we wire the live CRM feed (ALTO, VECO, Loop, Reapit, Street or any other CRM we build the integration for in-house). For retailers and venues, we connect your review feed, and a POS or scheduling feed on request where your system supports it.

  3. 03

We build your first flow with you

We help you compose your first playlist on the consultation: property carousel, brand video, custom slides, reviews, valuation QR overlays where relevant. You then update everything from one login whenever you need to.

Hardware

Mini PC sold separately, one-off per screen

Screenli runs on a small Screenli mini PC that drives any TV, commercial display or video wall over HDMI. The mini PC is a separate one-off purchase per screen, quoted alongside the software, not bundled into the monthly subscription. If you also need a new commercial display, our UK hardware partners can supply and install it alongside the mini PC.

Common questions

Questions from Oxford businesses

Does Screenli work for businesses in Oxford?

Do I need a media player for digital signage?
You need the Screenli mini PC, which we supply as a one-off purchase per screen. It runs our custom kiosk software and connects to any TV, commercial display or video wall over HDMI. You do not need to buy a smart TV, a generic media stick or any third-party signage hardware.
Can I manage multiple screens from one account?
Yes. Whether you run a single location or screens nationwide, you manage them all from one Screenli login. The dashboard is built for multi-screen, multi-location organisations, so a national estate or retail group can control every screen across every site centrally, with role-based access for regional and branch managers, while a single shop runs just as easily.
How do I update content on my digital signage?
You do it all from your computer. Log in to your Screenli client portal in any web browser, from your laptop at the office or anywhere in the world, upload or edit the content, and save. The screens pick up the change at their next sync, usually within minutes. There is nothing to install on the screen each time, and you never have to be on site to make a change.
