Restaurants signage today

What goes wrong with restaurants signage today

What's broken today

  • Menu reprints are slow, expensive and lag behind what the kitchen is actually serving.
  • Specials, events and social content live in different places and rarely reach the screen in front of the customer.
  • Allergen disclosures change every week, but the printed menu does not.

How Screenli fixes it

  • Update menu items in seconds from one login, and roll the same change out across every venue in a multi-site group with one push.
  • Run event posters, social content, customer reviews and brand video alongside the menu. Our partner agency One Stop Creative Agency can produce the artwork in-house if you need it.
  • Allergen panels sit alongside the main menu and update centrally as ingredients change.

In practice

Where Restaurants use Screenli day-to-day

  • Counter menu boards in a coffee shop or sandwich bar
  • Drinks menu screens above the bar
  • Event posters in the front window (quiz nights, live music, private dining)
  • Allergen information panels alongside the main menu
  • Customer review and social-post rotations in the dining area
  • Takeaway pickup display that calls orders by number

How it works

Three steps to your first screen

  1. 01

We fit the mini PC and the software

We install the Screenli mini PC behind your TV, commercial display or video wall, wire it to the network and provision it to your account. If you need a new commercial display as well, our UK hardware partners supply and install it at the same visit.

  2. 02

    We connect your integrations

For estate agents, we wire the live CRM feed (ALTO, VECO, Loop, Reapit, Street or any other CRM we build the integration for in-house). For retailers and venues, we connect your review feed, and a POS or scheduling feed on request where your system supports it.

  3. 03

We build your first flow with you

We help you compose your first playlist on the consultation: property carousel, brand video, custom slides, reviews, valuation QR overlays where relevant. You then update everything from one login whenever you need to.

Common questions

Restaurants signage: questions we get asked

How do I update my menu remotely?
Your menu is generally uploaded as an image, so to change it you upload the new menu image to the Screenli dashboard, swap it into the flow for that screen, and the menu board updates at its next sync. There is no live menu widget at the moment: it is the image you control. No reprinting, no laminating, no waiting on a designer.
Can I display allergen information on a digital menu board?
Yes. Allergen information is generally part of the menu image you upload, so you update it by replacing that image when ingredients change. Allergen accuracy is the venue's responsibility; the platform provides the canvas to display it cleanly.
Can I show specials and offers?
Yes. Screenli has a custom slide designer, so you can build a specials or offers slide directly on there, or upload your own image and drop it into the flow. To change it, replace the content for that node in the flow whenever you need to.
Can I promote events in the front window?
Yes. Quiz nights, live music, private dining, seasonal events: any of it can sit in the playlist as a custom slide or short video. Our partner agency One Stop Creative Agency can produce the artwork for you if you need it.
What size screen do I need for a digital menu board?
Counter menu boards typically use a 43 to 55 inch commercial panel, often in landscape or portrait depending on counter layout. Bigger venues with overhead boards run multiple 55 to 75 inch panels in landscape, or a video wall. These are averages and every circumstance is different, so we are happy to provide a fitting consultation to work out the exact size and requirements for your site.
Can I display QR codes for ordering?
Yes. You display a QR code by including it as part of the content you upload, placed into a node in your flow. It can route diners to your order-ahead page, loyalty signup or anywhere else you choose.
Can I run my drinks menu separately from my food menu?
Yes. Different screens can carry different playlists, so the drinks menu above the bar can be independent of the food menu over the counter.
Can the same content run on multiple restaurants from one login?
Yes. The dashboard is built for multi-site groups, so one team can manage menu boards across every venue with role-based controls.
